Leanne Evans has worked and volunteered for sporting and community organisations in five countries across three continents.
Besides her Return Serve role, she currently holds several voluntary roles as a Vice President for one tennis club, as the Chair of the Gold Coast Regional (Tennis) Assembly and as a Tennis Queensland Company Member for the Gold Coast.
Most recently, she worked for Exercise & Sports Science Australia, the peak professional organisation for tertiary-trained exercise and sports science practitioners as a senior policy advisor. Before that role, she was the Executive Officer of the Australian Womensport and Recreation Association (renamed Women Sport Australia), the peak advocacy organisation for women and girls in sport in Australia.
Leanne was a founding Director of the Buderim (Community) Foundation, now one of the most successful rural community foundations in Australia. Prior to a decade overseas, Leanne worked as the CEO of the Australian Sports Foundation and Deputy Director General of NSW Sport and Recreation.
She has also served as the first female CEO of both Touch Football Australia and Gymnastics Queensland. Leanne has played tennis since a child and has won a Commonwealth Games silver athletics medal.
Leanne holds Bachelor of Human Movement Studies (Education) and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Queensland.
